West Bromwich Albion and Burnley find themselves at the heart of two different relegation battles, with Scott Parker and Eric Ramsay potentially facing the sack as a result.
West Brom and Burnley interested in ex-Premier League manager
After Ryan Mason’s disastrous run earlier this season, some may have been expecting West Brom to target an experienced manager who knows all about avoiding the drop in the Championship. The Baggies did the exact opposite, however. They stuck to their principles, welcoming 34-year-old Ramsay.
Without an ounce of Championship experience to his name, those at the Hawthorns turned to their second young manager of the season and have been made to pay ever since.
Without a win in eight games, West Brom are now just one point above the dropzone in the Championship just five years after they were last a Premier League side. To say Ramsay is already running out of time to turn things around would be an understatement.

Ramsay could depart after less than six weeks.
And then there’s Burnley. The Clarets are also in a relegation battle. Unlike West Brom, though, it is one that they are on course to lose under Parker in what will feel like some kind of Groundhog Day.
Recent results against Crystal Palace and Bournemouth have provided some unexpected hope, but it may just be a case of what might have been for those at Turf Moor.
Whether it’s enough to save Parker’s job is also the big question. If it’s not then the club will have to act quickly if they want to land their managerial target.
According to Sports Boom, Burnley are now considering a move to hire Sean Dyche, who has also had interest from West Brom amid their ongoing struggles.
West Brom desperately need Dyche
If the Baggies could travel back in time, they would have avoided their conversation with Ramsay altogether. His resume never matched up to the task at the Hawthorns and the Baggies need to pull the plug before it’s too late for their Championship status.
In his place, Dyche should be their top target. The 54-year-old’s stock may have dropped in recent years after facing the sack at Nottingham Forest and Everton, but is a Premier League-quality manager who would drag West Brom to safety by any means necessary.
Praised by TNT Sports’ Darren Fletcher for the “remarkable” job he did to keep Everton up during his time in Merseyside, Dyche could perform a similar job at West Brom.
However, there’s no denying that he may be tempted to complete a shock return to Burnley. It’s where he built his reputation, where he secured his best achievement by taking the club into Europe. And it’s where he could rebuild himself as well as the club even if they suffer relegation this season.
