Virat Kohli fires back at Yuvraj Singh, Amit Mishra’s ‘changed man’ jibes with strong statement

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star batter Virat Kohli has taken an indirect dig at former Team India cricketers Amit Mishra and Yuvraj Singh during the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. The right-handed batter rubbished the talk about the fame and power that had changed him.

Virat Kohli is currently playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League 2025. The 36-year-old batter has been instrumental in the Bengaluru team’s success in the T20 tournament. Bengaluru are currently at the top of the standings as they chase their maiden IPL trophy.

I’ve Never Behaved Differently With Them – Virat Kohli

In a conversation with Mayanti Langer, Virat shared that fame hasn’t changed how he interacts with people. He recalled meeting his former Under-19 teammates Tanmay Srivastava and Ajitesh Argal, who now serve as IPL umpires.

“I’ve never behaved differently with them because I don’t feel differently myself. I’m pretty much the same with everyone I meet. I recently caught up with a couple of my Under-19 teammates — Tanmay Srivastava and Ajitesh Argal — both of whom are now umpires in the IPL. We shared a lot of memories. I also met Yomi (Yomahesh) recently in Chennai. I played a lot of cricket with him. So, things stay exactly the same,” Kohli said.

What Yuvraj Singh and Amit Mishra Had Said About Virat

Earlier, Yuvraj Singh and Amit Mishra had said that Virat has changed over the years. Mishra, who has known Kohli since he was a teenager, expressed disappointment over their fading bond. Meanwhile, Yuvraj said that he doesn’t interact much with Kohli anymore.

“I have seen Virat change a lot. We had almost stopped talking. When you get fame and power, they think people are reaching out to them for a purpose. I was never one of those. I have known Cheeku since the time he was 14, when he used to eat Samosas, and when he needed Pizza every night,” Mishra had said.

“Not really. I don’t disturb him as he is busy. Young Virat Kohli’s name was Cheeku. Today’s Cheeku is Virat Kohli, there’s a big difference,” Yuvraj said.

Former RCB Skipper Has Been in Stunning Form in IPL 2025 Season

Virat has been in stunning form for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2025. He has been delivering consistent performances. The batter has scored 505 runs in 11 matches at an average of 63.12 and a strike rate of 143.46, with the help of seven half-centuries — all in matches RCB have won.

RCB currently have 16 points from 11 games, and a win in their next match against Lucknow Super Giants on May 9 could confirm their playoff berth. With three matches remaining, the Rajat Patidar-led team will be hoping to finish in the top 2 to get more chances to reach the summit clash.
