Ravichandran Ashwin explodes in anger after a shocking LBW call in the TNPL 2025 Match

Meanwhile, the big drama unfolded during the TNPL 2025 match when Ravichandran Ashwin was left angry and frustrated after being given out LBW in a controversial moment against Idream Tiruppur Tamizhans. The incident happened in the fifth over of Dindigul Dragons’ innings.

The Dindigul Dragons skipper, who opened the batting, tried to play a big sweep shot to a delivery from Tiruppur captain Sai Kishore. The ball was tossed up and landed on the left side. Ashwin missed the shot, and the ball hit his pad.

It looked like the ball might have pitched outside the leg stump, and Ashwin also felt the same, so the batter was expecting to be declared not out. But to everyone’s surprise, umpire Kritika raised her finger, declaring Ashwin out LBW. Ashwin was clearly shocked.

Since Dindigul had already used up all their DRS reviews earlier, the former Indian all-rounder could not challenge the umpire’s decision. Frustrated Ashwin went to the umpire and had some fiery words with her, questioning the call. He stood there, demanding an answer, but the umpires stayed silent, which only fumed the cricketer more.

Ravichandran Ashwin slams bat, throws gloves after umpires call

He began walking back to the pavilion, but his anger was on full display. The Dragons’ captain slammed his bat against his pads in frustration and then threw his gloves into the air right in front of the dugout. Even after sitting down, his anger did not cool off. Ashwin kept shouting toward the umpires and making aggressive hand gestures during the match.

The entire scene, Ashwin had to pay the price, and later his team suffered a heavy nine-wicket defeat against Tiruppur. Earlier, the all-rounder had a forgettable IPL 2025 campaign with Chennai Super Kings, where he picked up only 7 wickets and scored a mere 33 runs in 9 matches.
