The Premier League is the most watched league on the planet and home to the greatest players in the world.
Mohamed Salah cemented himself as one of the best wingers of all time last season, picking up the PFA Player of the Year award for a record third time. But who is the best player in the English top flight right now?

42. Cody Gakpo |

41. Gianluigi Donnarumma |
Man City |
Benjamin Sesko cracks the top 50 for the first time after scoring in back to back games for Manchester United, while Tijjani Reijnders’s hot start to the season has come to a halt, with just one assist since his opening day masterclass against Wolves.
Like his countryman, Cody Gakpo’s stunning start to the season is at risk despite scoring in the defeat against Chelsea, with both Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike threatening his place in Liverpool’s best XI.
40-31
40. Marc Guehi |
Crystal Palace |
39. Robin Roefs |
Sunderland |
38. Igor Thiago |

34. Riccardo Calafiori |
Arsenal |
33. Enzo Fernandez |
Chelsea |
32. Anton Stach |
Leeds |
31. Jeremy Doku |
Man City |
Robin Roefs has been one of the signings of the season so far, producing a stunning save in the Black Cats’ 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford, while Anton Stach continues the theme of summer arrivals having a big impact, scoring once and being a fixture in the middle of the park for Leeds.
Igor Thiago is another new face taking the top flight by storm, scoring four times already for Brentford, although he missed a great chance in the Bees’ defeat against Manchester City. Alisson Becker was the only thing standing between Liverpool and a mauling in their recent defeat at Crystal Palace, and Jeremy Doku has three assists in just four starts.
30-21
30. Bukayo Saka |
Arsenal |
29. Bruno Guimaraes |
Newcastle |
28. Yankuba Minteh |
Brighton |
27. Martin Zubimendi |
Arsenal |
26. Joao Pedro |

24. David Raya |
Arsenal |
23. Daniel Munoz |
Crystal Palace |
22. Nick Pope |
Newcastle |
21. Marcos Senesi |
Bournemouth |
Bukayo Saka’s injury problems means it’s been a slow start to the campaign by his lofty standards, but he returned to form with a goal in the victory over West Ham, and is joined by Spanish teammates Martin Zubimendi and David Raya in the top 30.
Bournemouth continue to be one of the surprise packages of the season, with Marcos Senesi leading the way in defence, while Nick Woltemade joined Les Ferdinand and Alan Shearer as the only players to score in their first three Premier League home games for Newcastle.
20-11
20. Jaidon Anthony |
Burnley |
19. Adam Wharton |
Crystal Palace |
18. Bruno Fernandes |
Man United |
17. Jarrod Bowen |
West Ham |
16. Iliman Ndiaye |
Everton |
15. Hugo Ekitike |
Liverpool |
14. Sandro Tonali |
Newcastle |
13. Mohamed Salah |
Liverpool |
12. Granit Xhaka |
Sunderland |
11. Cristian Romero |
Tottenham |
Jaidon Anthony is perhaps the best player in the Premier League that no one is talking about, registering four goals and an assist in a struggling Burnley side.
Mohamed Salah has produced end product like always, but there are concerns over his lack of involvement in Liverpool’s general play.
10
Jurrien Timber – Arsenal
Timber may well be the best right-back in world football right now, scoring twice for Arsenal already while dominating in defence, contributing to a Gunners rearguard which has conceded just three times in seven games so far.
9
Mohammed Kudus – Tottenham
Kudus couldn’t have asked for a better start to life on the North side of London, racking up four assists as Spurs look to mount an unlikely title challenge.
8
Virgil van Dijk – Liverpool
Liverpool’s captian has been at his imperious best once again this season, carrying a Reds backline which has struggled with Ibrahima Konate out of form and new full-backs struggling to settle.
7
Declan Rice – Arsenal
A lot of the word Rice does at the Emirates Stadium may go unnoticed, but the England international has been superb once again. Adding end product to his game over the last 12 months, he has scored once and provided two assists so far this term.
6
Jack Grealish – Everton
An early front runner for the signing of the season, Grealish is proving his doubters wrong at Everton, adding the spark to David Moyes’ steel. Scoring the winner last time out against Crystal Palace, the Englishman is gaining momentum ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
5
Ryan Gravenberch – Liverpool
Last season’s PFA Young Player of the Year has been sensational once again, scoring the opener in wins against Newcastle and Everton while averaging three tackles and interceptions per game and completing 88 per cent of his passes.
4
Gabriel Magalhaes – Arsenal
If there is a serious challenger to Van Dijk’s crown at the top of the Premier League centre-back ranks, it is Arsenal’s Gabriel. The Brazilian has seen his partner change at times this season due to an injury to William Saliba, but scored the winner against Newcastle and is making over five clearances per game.
3
Moises Caicedo – Chelsea
If there was one thing lacking from Caicedo’s game, it was goals and assists, but no more. The Chelsea star scored a stunner against Liverpool, his third of the season, and leads the league with four tackles per game (minimum five starts).
2
Antoine Semenyo – Bournemouth
Semenyo was hot property in the summer but signed a new contract with Bournemouth, and the Cherries will be delighted he did. The 25 year-old has six goals and three assists, and the only people happier than Andoni Iraola will be his Fantasy managers.
1
Erling Haaland – Man City
Nine goals in 596 minutes of football. Haaland is finding the back of the net once every 66 minutes. The scariest thing for the other Premier League contenders it that the Norwegian only seems to be getting better.
