Here’s some things the bill does (text is not my own)
– Unjust limitations on asylum claims
– A new information demand power allowing police and CSIS to, without a warrant, make any service provider (electronic or offline) reveal information about their clients
-Backdoors for state actors to use companies to gain access to our data
-Allowing Canada Post to open and search letter mail in a massive violation of privacy
-Increasing the flow of police-held data between Canada and other countries
-Expanding Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) powers, with no introduction of any independent oversight or accountability (they currently have none!)
-Turning the Coast Guard into a security agency, introducing security patrols and intelligence gathering, with no independent oversight
