I’m from very nearby tumbler ridge. I was vaguely aquatinted with the shooters mom. And knowing the violence in our community towards transgender people, I think it’s pretty clear why jes did what she did. And people will see the extreme result of the violence that broke the poor girl and ignore the failure of the people around her and blame it on her being transgender, not the daily hate she faced that broke her to this point. Love, mourning, and fear for my neighbors and the victims. Love mourning and fear for the queer people of the Peace region.
